360 Degree Feedback and Development

Overview:

360 degree appraisals are a powerful developmental method and quite different to traditional manager-employee appraisals. As such a 360 degree process does not replace the traditional one-to-one process, it augments it and can be used as a highly effective, stand-alone employee development method.

As a system the 360 feedback is a performance and / or training needs appraisal process that gathers feedback on an individual from a number of sources, typically including colleagues, direct reports and line managers. It is not unusual for a 360 degree feedback form to take the nature of a skills and competency based questionnaire.

A good 360 degree feedback program should always be supported by a clear development and individual performance coaching plan; ensuring that the employee has a clear understanding and ‘buy in’ as to their development journey, their managers role in their personal development plan and the organizational coaching resources available to them.

  • The WHAT (process) and HOW (practice) of giving good feedback
  • Giving & receiving feedback working groups and role play scenarios
  • Creating realistic and relevant resources for writing objective, inclusive, measurable and timely employee development plans.

Upon Completion Of This Course Participants Will Be Expected To:

  • Be able to design and implement a highly effective 360 feedback system & process
  • Be able to analyze 360 degree feedback results, both individually (employee) & collectively (team); in doing so be able to identify the individual (employee) and collective (team) strengths and development areas.
  • Understand the theoretical process and practice of giving good feedback.
  • Be well versed and competent in the practical application of giving good employee 360 feedback – in an objective, empowered and inclusive manner.
  • Be able to design specific, measurable and objective employee personal development plans; in doing so, strengthen the skill and competency of each employee, relative to the bigger organizational need.
